Workshop: Sustainable Seafood made easy!
Seafood is an indelible part of the Aussie lifestyle. It seems we just can't get enough of it! And this is causing problems. Overfishing has a huge impact on our oceans and their wildlife.
This workshop will give you the facts and confidence to choose more sustainable types of seafood and prepare it at home.
It will include:
- Introduction about what to look for when selecting fish, key points for freshness.
- Demonstrate how to fillet a large fish e.g. salmon, how to prepare it, skin it, pin bone, and what parts to use for what.
- Hands on practice filleting some smaller fish, eg mackerel, bonito.
- Demonstration of how to prepare Sashimi (and how to eat it at the end of class!)
